North America

In 1837 William Procter and James Gamble started a small soap and candle business in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today, Procter & Gamble operates in over 80 countries worldwide, including our North America operations in Canada, Puerto Rico and the United States.

The average American consumer spends $110 per year on P&G products, and North America sales make up more than 40% of the Company’s total. Nearly every household in the U.S. has a P&G product under its roof. We have more than 35 manufacturing plants handling production for products around the world.

Building Trusted Brands

Since the beginning of the decade, P&G has more than doubled the number of brands in its portfolio that generate over a billion dollars in annual sales—from 10 to 22. North America is home to 21 of these big brands. The most recent addition is Gillette Fusion, which went from launch to billion-dollar status in just two years, the fastest in P&G’s history.
