P&G employees volunteer for community development

Karachi April 16, 2011: Procter & Gamble Pakistan organized an educational and fun-filled field trip for the underprivileged students of P&G-HOPE Schools in Ghaggar Pattak, Pipri and Shah Town areas. This marked celebration of the company’s annual volunteerism drive and P&G employees keenly participated to enable 100 children from these areas to visit the PAF Museum for the very first time.

P&G is committed to touching and improving lives of people in Pakistan through community development programs focused in the areas of education and health and hygiene awareness. The P&G-HOPE ‘Keeping the Hope Alive’ project has educated 2000 underprivileged children in Pakistan to date making a positive difference in their lives. Moreover, P&G employees volunteer time to help develop self-esteem and confidence of the children. Accompanied by 40 P&G employee volunteers the children got a chance to learn about aviation and history of Pakistan Air Force.

Commenting on the company’s volunteerism drive, Faisal Sabzwari, Country Manager P&G Pakistan, said: “We firmly believe in giving back to the community. The spirit of volunteering is all about investing our time and skills for community development and creating a long lasting impact on our local communities. I am very proud of the energy and dedication of our volunteers and appreciate their contribution of numerous hours in making a positive difference in our community”.

The P&G-HOPE ‘Keeping the Hope Alive’ project stems from the company’s global corporate cause of Live, Learn and Thrive (LLT) which focuses on the development of children in need. In line with this commitment, P&G Pakistan’s community development programs have touched and improved the lives of more than 19 million Pakistanis to date.
