Ariel brings smiles to underprivileged children in SOS village

Karachi, August 25, 2011: Ariel, one of the leading detergent brands of the world distributed new clothes and shoes amongst children at SOS village in Karachi to help make their Eid a memorable one. This event was part of the Ariel Ramadan Campaign in which upon purchase of Ariel packs in the month of Ramadan, Rs. 5 per pack will be donated by Ariel to its trusted partners SOS Village and READ Foundation. Renowned playwright and literary personality, Mr. Anwer Maqsood was also present at the event, along with representatives from the media fraternity, who had gathered to join hands with Ariel in distributing gifts amongst the deserving children at SOS Village.

Faisal Sabzwari, Country Manager P&G Pakistan was present at the event. His thoughts echoed P&G’s ongoing commitment to society, he said, “At P&G we are always seeking ways to ensure a better quality of life for future generations. Over the years, Ariel as a brand has proved its commitment to improving the lives of its consumers through campaigns such as ‘Ariel Humwatan Humqadam’ where we provided relief to the flood affectees across Pakistan and ‘Ariel Help the Needy’, through which we provided disabled children with education opportunities. Our commitment will be unrelenting and will continue to grow in the years to come.”

Currently, the Ariel team has committed to distributing Eid gifts to thousands of children across Pakistan in collaboration with SOS Village and READ Foundation.

Appreciating the consistent support being shown by P&G and Ariel, former Pakistan Information Minister and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the SOS Children’s Villages of Pakistan, Javed Jabbar commented, “SOS villages provide shelter to over 1,860 orphans and underprivileged children in its network of ten centers throughout Pakistan. This noble gesture by Ariel has guaranteed a memorable Eid for our children. In the last few years P&G has helped us change many lives for the better and we are looking forward to working together in the future to change many more.”

Ariel has and continues to be committed to touching and improving the lives of more Pakistanis in more parts of the country more completely. In the past Ariel has provided disabled children with opportunities for free education through in kind donations. Ariel was also amongst the first to rush to the aid of Pakistani flood affectees through ‘Ariel Humwatan Humqadam’.
