The Always “Girls Can” show announces winner.

Karachi, February 8, 2010: Mehreen Hashmi was announced the winner of the “Always Girls can” show. She was awarded a grand prize of Rs. 500,000 by the Always team, the sponsor of this first of its kind reality TV show in Pakistan. Jubilant Mehreen expressed her plans to invest this money in her future by pursuing her further education.

“Always Girls Can” show was based on the theme “Jo Chahoon Banoon”. Sixteen girls hailing from diverse backgrounds contested in a series of challenges which tested their mental and physical capabilities, patience, confidence and stress threshold. Each challenge was designed with the objective of helping young girls develop a sense of confidence and independence. The show was hosted by the charismatic and accomplished Marina Khan, who was a guide and mentor to the contestants during their 13 week journey of self discovery.

Talking about the show Marina Khan commented, “This show is a great platform for young girls; I have seen it help them realize their true potential and unleash their hidden capabilities, in a society which to date holds orthodox views regarding them in many areas.”

Commenting on the success of the show Bushra Iqbal Brand Manager Always said “We hope the show will help women embrace their uniqueness and inner strength so that they display no-worry confidence in their day to day lives. We were able to break myths, enabling girls to showcase their talent on an engaging platform and we saw what girls really can do. The show is testimony of the brands commitment to reach out to young girls with the message of confidence and enable them to realize that those who have the drive and ambition to succeed can do so.”

The winner of the show Mehreen Hashmi commented,” I had a life changing experience on the show, it was amazing the way the whole show progressed, through the ups and downs, emotions ran high. It tested us all to the edge of our capabilities, and now after its all over I can easily say, yes I Can. During the entire show I made new friends and I believe each girl on the show can truly say Girls Can”.
