Around 130 children joined P&G volunteers in various fun and educational activities during the day. Together they played games, participated in story-telling sessions and also helped with the everyday chores in the home. Employees also taught the children the importance of health and hygiene and the steps of handwashing by using the animated character of Commander Safeguard.
SOS Children's Villages provide orphan and abandoned children a home, good nurturing and an equal chance in life. These children live under SOS care until they are able to lead independent lives. P&G has established a home at the SOS Children's Village in Islamabad which has provided orphan children who were affected by the devastating earthquake of 2005 with a permanent home.
'Spending the day with children at the SOS Village was a very gratifying experience. The children were bright and talented and we had an amazing time together. The loving and caring environment at SOS inspires me to do much more. I am glad that I am able to help and would like to keep returning here to be with these loving children," said Abdul Basit Shams, a P&G volunteer.
