Prime Minister Ahmad Nazif Presents Procter & Gamble With The National Award For Excellence In Quality

P&G donates the award to support the ongoing efforts to modernize the Egyptian industry

In a glittering celebration attended by Egypt's Prime Minister, a large number of cabinet ministers, along with Egyptian industry dignitaries, P&G received the prestigious National Award for Excellence in Quality, the most celebrated award of the Egyptian Industrial Sector.

The National Awards for Excellence, introduced by Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry for the second year in 2006, are designed to honor the Egyptian industrial enterprises who proved to be role models in their approaches and the results they achieve. The awards bear imperative value due to the fact that, in their blueprints and assessment methodology, they model the highest global standards of similar industrial recognitions.

Mohamed Samir, P&G-Near East’s General Manager was the first to step on the stage and receive the trophy from Egypt's Prime Minister. In his speech, Samir attributed P&G’s excellence to transforming the motto of Consumer is Boss into a way of life that governs the day-to-day operations, in addition to the unyielding Purpose, Values and Principles which represent the foundations of the Company’s greatness.

He said that the Award comes as a wonderful conclusion to a whole year of celebrations of P&G’s 20 years of enjoyed success in the Egypt, during which the Company observed its investments grow more than 100 times, its workforce increase 15 times, and an exports progression that has escalated around 85 times. “Twenty years of strong affiliations between P&G and the Egyptian Government on the mutual objective to economic reform, and - above all – twenty years of evident consumer trust in P&G brands”, said Samir, explaining that this sensed mutual trust with all stakeholders has taken P&G to the strategic and well-thought out decision to increase investment in Egypt by half, that is, around 600 million Egyptian Pounds over the coming three years.

Mohamed Samir concluded his speech by announcing that P&G will donate the value of the prize to support the ongoing efforts to modernize the Egyptian industry.

In his comment about the Award, Mohamed Samir said: “This recognition comes as a tremendous achievement by the whole organization, which represents a huge milestone towards our vision of To be and be recognized as the best Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company in Egypt . We are factually recognized as the best company in our market in the overall quality of our management and systems.”

It is worth mentioning that Procter & Gamble manufactures and markets several products in Egypt, such as: Ariel, Tide, Lang, Downy, Camay, Zest, Head & Shoulders, Pantene Pro v, Pert Plus, Pampers, Always as well as Gillette , Oral B and Braun.
