Procter & Gamble is seeking outstanding students in science and engineering technology collegiate programs for their Minorities in Scientific Studies Scholarship Program.
This scholarship program is coupled with our R&D co-op program. It is designed to provide monetary assistance and industry experience to encourage the recipients' academic advancement and provide opportunities to gain the broad, but focused, skills needed in today’s corporate environment.
The number of available scholarships each fiscal year is approximately 10 to 15. The awards granted are standard scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. The number of awards granted depends on the availability of funds and the number of qualified candidates. It is expected that this scholarship will be used to continue in the pursuit of a degree in science or engineering technology.
Applicants must be actively pursuing and selected for co-op employment with P&G in order to be considered for the scholarship program.
Additional eligibility criteria includes
Minority student enrolled in a two- or four-year science degree program, including but not limited to: biochemisty, chemistry, chemical technology, biology, mechanical engineering technology, microbiology, physics, etc.
Enrollment in your college’s cooperative education program
Completing P&G’s employment process including being offered and accepting a researcher co-op position
Having and maintaining a minimum 3.0 overall GPA for the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded
Maintaining status as a full-time student
Agreeing to an eight-hour volunteer commitment per academic year as an ambassador for the Scholarship Program.
A selection committee made up of P&G professionals and academic colleagues administer all aspects of the scholarship program. All decisions of the Selection Committee are final. Award decisions are based upon:
Academic achievement
Demonstrated leadership
Extracurricular activities
Work experience
Outside interests
Recommendations
Career goals
Timely and accurate completion of the scholarship application
Applications for the scholarship will be considered in May for June distribution and November for December distribution. It is recommended that interested students complete the application for co-op employment at least two months prior to this deadline. All scholarship applicants will be notified of the outcome prior to the distribution date.

Researcher co-ops are typically local to the Greater Cincinnati area; however, applications are accepted from all geographies. Most co-ops complete multiple assignments while enrolled in college.
Co-ops typically receive full-time job offers based on their satisfactory performance and our business need.
