Duracell’s Power Relief Program
Our Duracell Power Relief program distributes thousands of flashlights and batteries in disaster-stricken areas. The Power Relief trailer provides electricity and online access, helping people in places without power to recharge, reconnect and recover.
After deadly tornadoes hit Tuscaloosa, AL in May 2011, flashlights, batteries, and internet access were in great demand. The Duracell Power Relief Trailer arrived shortly after the storms to assist in the recovery efforts, providing power to approximately 3,000 families.
Community members were able to reconnect with loved ones and emergency services through internet stations and free Wi-Fi access, in addition to receiving free Duracell batteries and flashlights.
