P&G Future Friendly

Helping Consumers Conserve

Future Friendly is a partnership between trusted P&G brands and leading sustainability experts aimed at inspiring us to reduce waste in our lives. The goal is to show consumers - in a very achievable way - how to save water, waste and energy at home with trusted brands like Pampers, Ariel, Flash, Fairy, Duracell and Iams.

Each brand in the partnership is designed to use at least 15% less energy, water or packaging – whether it's in the way they're manufactured or used. Nearly 80% of the energy used in a typical load of laundry comes from heating water, for example but by using cold water and Ariel Excel Gel, consumers can reduce energy consumption and their utility bills.

P&G’s Future Friendly programme launched in the UK in 2007.

  • Waste Watch – Waste Watch is a practical charity inspiring and helping individuals, communities and organisations to waste less... “It’s about showing what we can all do to change the way we produce, buy, use and dispose of things. It’s about how we – as individuals, communities, businesses and policy-makers – can encourage, support and challenge each other to do things differently. It’s about bringing people together to share more, to learn new skills, and to build strong communities.

Being less wasteful is a win-win. It’s good for your pocket. It’s good for your health. It’s good for other people. And it’s good for the planet. Waste Watch want to change how we live so that we – and future generations – can enjoy life without costing the earth. That’s why we support P&G Future Friendly”

The P&G Future Friendly Awards
P&G Future Friendly also celebrates the people who are making an effort to promote sustainability in their communities through the Future Friendly Awards. The winner of our 4th annual Awards - The Project Group from Shropshire, worked to creatively transform waste into wonderful objects. The Project Group supports members of all ages with mental health issues or learning disabilities through creative art work. The group has established a focus on using recycled materials, creating everything from bags from tractor inner tubes and watertight vases from waste paper, to fashion accessories from zips, bike parts and plastic bags! Funding will help the group reach out to communities across Shropshire and develop their retail range of recycled products to benefit its members.
