Heavy monsoon rains and floods once again plagued the south of the country mainly Sindh and some parts of the Baluchistan province. Over 664,000 people were living in over 3000 relief camps and access to safe drinking water was a major concern.
Advancing the company's Purpose of touching and improving lives, P&G Pakistan stepped up to contribute in line with the country's needs and in a manner best leveraging the company's core strengths and expertise. P&G worked with its long-term partner Health Oriented Preventive Education (HOPE) to provide 4000 families with clean drinking water via PUR for a month and essential hygiene products including Safeguard, Pampers, Ariel and Always.
Employees were also provided an opportunity to help the flood affected people via direct contribution to HOPE which was matched by the company or by participating in an employee auction availing the chance to bid on various office items such as furniture and paintings. All proceeds from the auction were passed on to HOPE for flood relief.
