Khwabon Se Aagey - helping save lives of newborn babies

Together with the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Procter & Gamble (P&G) Pakistan launched the Khawbon Sey Aagey project last December aiming to helping save lives of newborn babies by providing healthcare equipment to select hospitals all over Pakistan. In addition to serving consumers with premium quality brands P&G believes in working with and within local communities to respond to their social needs. As partners in this project PMA has shared their expertise in identifying the recipient hospitals across Pakistan and life saving equipment to be donated to these hospitals along with conducting training of the hospital staff on effective use of the equipment.
The program came to a successful close this March and a total of 22 hospitals across Pakistan - in Karachi, Lahore, Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, Kasur, Multan, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Quetta, Khuzdar, Dera Murad Jamali, Kohat, Peshawar, Manshera, Muzaffarabad, Mardan and Naushehra were donated life-saving equipment for newborn babies. Also, trainings led by qualified senior pediatricians were conducted for the hospital staff and around 500 hospital doctors, nurses and midwives were trained on resuscitation of new born babies and effective usage of the donated equipment.

“The pediatricians here are very competent but we felt there was a need for lifesaving equipment in these hospitals, which P&G and PMA have fulfilled. This will also be encouraging for other donors to come forward and help such an important cause.”
