Procter & Gamble Rated Number One Again! PG.com Chosen Best Corporate Web Site

P&GPG.com, Procter & Gamble's global consumer website, was rated the best of 529 sites by the Best Practices in Corporate Communications 2002 study.

PG.com is maintained by Corbus, a global IT consulting firm with a unique onsite/offshore software development environment.

Corbus, headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, was also the only IT company nominated for P&G's Outstanding Minority Vendor of the Year award in 2002.

P&G's Information Technology Group and Corbus team members, including Kishore Kumar and Rajeev Govindham, have been instrumental in the global success of PG.com.

Best Practices in Corporate Communications, a consulting company that specializes in strategic communication solutions, released a study of corporate websites. The study, Corporate Web Site Study, 529 Companies Using the Internet to Boost Growth and Reputation, named PG.com the highest ranked site, pushing the limits of convention with innovative features and content.

Sites included in the study were selected from publicly held Fortune 500, Fortune 1000, and Fortune Global 1000 companies. The sites were measured against 40 criteria, including design, branding, usability, load time, and customer service. Sites that scored 32 or above were further researched through a textual analysis that identified unique features, navigation, and overall content.

PG.com was the highest scoring site in the study with 36 of a possible 40 points. The study summary stated, "What makes this website excel is that its content and features go very far beyond the best practices criteria. Procter & Gamble is truly paving the way for new and innovative corporate Web development."

Under "What Makes This Site Great," the study lists:

  • Colorful focus on our brands
  • Simple and user-friendly design
  • P&G Advisors Club (consumer feedback area)
  • Career Advice Center (Jobs)
  • The Try & Buy e-Store
  • Model for effective newsletters targeted to community organizations

Congratulations to the core team and all partners inside and outside the company who worked hard over the last 2 years to make the site what this report calls a "paragon of excellence."
